Mountain View Animal Hospital

Mountain View Animal Hospital is a place of hope and healing. Whether you have a sick pet in need of gentle medical care, or you have a well pet you simply want to keep in the best health: We Can Help You.

Mountain View Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located near the Cole/Ustick intersection in Boise, ID. For more than 35 years Mountain View has served the animals (and their owners!) of Boise. To ensure consistent quality of care, we restrict our care to dogs and cats.

Mountain View is proudly certified by the American Animal Hospital Association, an honor that fewer than 15% of hospitals ever achieve. To reach this elite level of certification, we are regularly inspected in areas as diverse as customer service, sterility, advanced imaging, and laboratory services. AAHA stipulates more than 1000 exacting standards of care, for their members to meet.

    Craig Maloney, DVM, Practice Owner

Dr. Craig D. Maloney completed a bachelors degree in molecular biology at the University of Chicago in 1992, received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1996 and a MBA from California Lutheran University in 1998.  Prior to moving to Idaho he worked in two critical care practices in southern California and later served as the medical director of the 7 hospital Central Valley Veterinary Group in Salt Lake City. In 1999 Dr. Maloney moved with his family to Boise and purchased Mountain View Animal Hospital, which he continues to own and operate.  In 2008 Dr. Maloney purchased Orchard Animal Clinic, dividing his time between the two hospitals.

In 2006 Dr. Maloney was certified as a specialist by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Canine and Feline Practice. Currently he is one of only 2 veterinarians in Idaho to have met this certification. He has practice interests in pain management and oncology, and is an active member of the Veterinary Cancer Society and the International Veterinary Association for Pain Management. Recently the IVAPM announced that it will begin to allow veterinarians to become certified in pain management, and Dr. Maloney is now pursing this training and specialty certification.

Both Mountain View Animal Hospital and Orchard Animal Clinic are certified by the American Animal Hospital Association, a stringent voluntary certification that has only been achieved by only seven hospitals in Idaho.  To reach AAHA accreditation a hospital must meet strict guidelines for equipment, training, staffing, medical protocols, record keeping, and in addition must undergo regular physical inspection.

In his free time he enjoys scuba diving, braiding leather, gardening, outdoor sports, and spending time with his wife Melinda and his five children (Jesse, Jim, Tristan, Bryanna, Lilly). He is active in his church (Cloverdale Church of God) and performs volunteer work in Scouting and with the Family Advocacy Program.  He owns three dogs, two cats, several snakes, and three horses.
